Pictures and Diapers

Well, we got the okay from our doctor to come home tonight. Tessa is doing great and handled the stairs up to the bedroom like a champ. She is going to be stuck up stairs for the next couple of days since both the bedroom and bathroom are up here. Kloee is happy and we are so happy to have her here with us. There is something about her that just melts my heart. I could sit there for hours just looking at her big blue eyes and round chubby face. She is so pure and innocent and I am glad that Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to teach her all we know.

Her first ride in the car seat.

I have never been a fan of changing diapers and Kloee has not made it any better. I had my first diaper changing disaster yesterday. She had a really messy diaper which required many wipes. It took a little while to get it all cleaned up and the problem is that the longer any baby is not in a diaper, the more you are risking a bigger mess. For this particular cleanup, I had a hold of both legs and lifted them up so I could get the last of the mess up off the back. As I did the last wipe, she starts to pee which goes all over the place. It runs around both sides of her leg, stomach, and back. It gets all over her shirt, the brand new diaper sitting underneath her, and soaks through the blankets. Awesome Kloee. Way to make memories with dad. I was not to pleased at the time but I must admit, it is pretty funny.

This is where the incident occured.

For every baby, Gritman takes about 10 to 15 pictures of each baby in an outfit for the parents to have burned on a cd and if the parents want, they can post one of them on the website. I thought I would post some of them for you to see.

Kloee Belle Allen

Kloee was born at 1:41 AM on the 22nd of April, one day before her due date. She weighed in at 8# 4oz, 20 3/4 in. long, her head was 13 1/2 in., and her chest was 14 1/4 in. She is very healthy and passed all of her tests with no problems.

It was quite the ordeal to get Kloee out. We started Tessa on the epidural about 9:00ish, which we BOTH were greatful for since Kloee didn't arrive for another 18 hours or so. They started her on the patosum right away since her contractions were not coming as fast as needed. At around 4:30 she was fully dialated and after 2 hours, they let her rest before continuing another 2 hours of pushing. The baby stopped making progress and unfortunately the next option was a C Section but the surgery wasn't going to be for a while. The anesthesiologist, who was already off for the day, had been needed for a surgery that was going to take about 2 to 3 hours. Because of the situation, that surgery couldn't wait. SO, at about 1:30 this morning, we went up for the surgery. When they were pulling the baby out, one doctor meantioned the size of the baby while another meantioned the size of the head. No wonder she didn't want to come out before. The surgery went well and Tessa is starting her process of recovery.

Here she is getting her first bath

Here she is expressing her opinion of her first bath.

She is all clean and putting on her first shirt.

I missed the glare she had on her face by the click of the camera button. Her eyes were slightly open to let us know she was grumpy at us. Poor baby.

And her she is later on this morning with her eyes open.

She has arrived!!!

Our little Kloee finally made it. It has been an experience that I think is best described as sacred. So many emotions for both Tessa and I which I think took us by surprise. Sorry for the short post which lacks the information that everyone has been waiting to hear but I haven't slept in the last 24 hours. Tomorrow I will talk more of our journey and more about Kloee along with some pictures. Her and Tessa are healthy and well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Off to the hospital we go!!!

Well, the time has finally arrived and right in the middle of the night. Tessa wakes me up at about 2:00 this morning asking for a towel. Half daised, I robotically got up, grabbed a towel, and by the time I handed it to her, my mind started functioning and I realized what was going on. She said it wasn't to bad and to go back to sleep and when she knew for sure that her water had broken, then we would pack up the car and head out. I think it was around 3:30 that we called the hospital and told them we were on our way. Tessa's water had definitely broke and now we wait.

Here is Tessa waiting for her IV. Doesn't she look so happy?

Here is my bed. Very firm indeed. It extends on the sides so I should have no problem fitting.

This will be our entertainment for our stay; cable and a dvd player with surround sound. Sure wish we could take it home with us.

Just a quick update!

Well, Monday we had another appointment and everything is on schedule still with the baby. She was going to strip my membranes in hopes to make sure this baby would come out on time but my cervix is too far back she couldn't. I was a little disappointed  but I know she will come when she is ready. She also gave us a little bit of a scare Monday because her heart rate was really high. Dr Elsbury sent us over to the hospital for the rest of the afternoon to have her monitored for a while. Eventually after drinking a lot of water we got her to settle down and we came home. I have been have lots of contractions just not any that are strong enough to really do much, so Darren and I decided we are going for some long walks this week to see if we can help out a little. This was really the only home remedy we found sounded safe...there are some crazy people with some crazy ideas out there. We are down to 8 days but Im to the point I just want to get it over with....this waddling has got to stop!

Well my sister and her family (Rob and the three boys) came to visit for a couple of days last week and sad to say this is the only picture I got of the whole thing.  It was a lot of to have them here even though the boys ended up getting the stomach flu while they were here. We watched some movies, got caught up on dancing with the stars, took a quick trip to Lewiston, looked at and antique mall and ate some yummy food and Zany's grill. We can wait for their next visit!
