Well as today is election day Darren and I planned a time to go vote. It was going to be perfect, right between two of his classes, well it didn't turn out that way. Since we just moved here we needed to register before we voted, and we asked around and found out we needed to go to the fairgrounds luckily that's not too far from our house. So we get our information and we head out the door and it is raining/snowing fine no big deal until we get to the fairground and it is mud puddle after mud puddle with no close parking. We trudged inside filled out the registration form and got in line. This is when we find out our piece of mail to verify our address is too new, it needed to be post dated before October 5, 2008 (which I have thrown all the envelopes away). So we drove home to find our utility bill and drove back trudged through the mud for a second time and this time we are told that we can only vote at the Kibbie dome on the other side of town. Exciting huh.... we were thinking maybe this voting thing wasn't for us....but we hung in there and voted....What a headache! Something that should have taken max 15 minutes ended up taking over an hour.

Well done for sticking with it. It's great to see such a strong turnout although as a UK voter (where we scrawl a cross on a piece of paper) it sounds like a very complicated process to register your vote over there. We're hearing reports of broken voting machines, long queues and people waiting hours to vote. Hopefully everyone will get their turn.
Hey cute blog!! But I realized we need to invite you to ours!! Email me.. raynbo.hilarie@gmail.com so I can send you an invite!!! Congrats again on the baby!
way to persist! you go girl? can i say that?
We had to register today too, but in little ol' Rigby it's not such an ordeal. We just went down to the precinct, filled out the paper, showed photo ID and one piece of mail. The children ran amok and entertained each other. Fun times.
Good job on voting. I'm so glad the election is over! I'm glad you guys got a blog. Holy cow.. I didn't know you are due only 3 days after me! How fun!! I'm still sick sometimes too.. I've thrown up almost every morning still.. occasionally I have a good morning where I don't! Fun times. It's all worth it tho! Glad things are going good for you! Just click on my name and you can go to our family blog. I'm going to add you to our blog list!
Hooray for voting! I always vote absentee, so I don't run into those sorts of problems. =) I didn't know you guys were expecting, but then again I haven't talked to Darren in a long time. Congrats! We just found out we're expecting number 2. Yikes! How are you guys liking Moscow?
Oh gravy! Glad you guys stuck in there.
