Think back to Fathers day.

I was put in charge of Fathers day dinner this year as I live with Mom and Dad right now. We made some of Dads favorite food from the Philippines (where he served his mission) we had lumpia, ponsit, variations of fish and last but not least we had some baloot for him(half grown duck in an egg YUMMY RIGHT?) For dessert I made cherry pie, my first time but thanks to some pointers from Patrecia and a lot of her pie cherries it was a success. Darren helped to of course (he is so good to me)
The cherries we so pretty I could help but take pictures
These are cherries in the water just before pitting started
Darren making the edges "pretty" for me
The pitting process (the pictures got a little out of order)
Filling the pie
and the end product the left over cherries I decided to can, lets just say that was an ordeal but its dont and I cant wait to make more cherry pies.
Darren got kinda neglected because of how busy I was working on the dinner for Dad but he did get his new airsoft gun that he is looking forward to using soon!

I LOVE baloot (or however it's spelled). It was my very first meal I had on my mission (in New Jersey) and it was seriously good. When I tell people what it is they think it's so disgusting, and honestly I'm such a picky eater I can't believe I tried it. But YUMMY! What a fun treat for your dad!

That pie turned out beautiful! Darren and I were in a group together in a high school cooking class, and he was pretty good. Sounds like your summer has been fun and busy. I'm SO jealous of your huckleberry jam, it's my fav. =)

The pie looks wonderful and I love the bright pictures of the cherries! That is nice that Darren was able to help. I bet your dad just loved that yummy meal and the pie!
